Charlotte trained as an actor at ArtsEd, where she found an unstoppable passion for stage & screen fighting. She graduated in 2016 and has since worked in a variety of roles across stage, screen and mocap; including many fight-heavy productions. Alongside this, she continued her training in fight performance with the British Academy of Dramatic Combat, as well as many other physical skills such as karate, firearms training, climbing and horse riding.
Charlotte is now a certified BADC Fight Teacher and, alongside acting, she works as an Associate Teacher and Fight Director for True Edge. She believes we have a huge responsibility as Fight Directors to tell stories through violence that have meaning and purpose – “There is always a reason we can no longer express ourselves through words and instead turn to physical violence. My job is to explore that and convey those thoughts and feelings through the choreography. It is important to ask, what are we trying to show and say with this work? Choreography alone is lifeless.”
